Research Interests: Yu Xie is Frederick G.L. Huetwell Professor of Sociology in the Department of Sociology at the University of Michigan. He is also affiliated with the Population
Studies Center and the Survey Research Center of the Institute for Social Research. His main areas of interest are social stratification, demography, statistical
methods, and sociology of science. He recently published a book with Daniel Powers on statistical methods for categorical data analysis and is currently
completing a book with Kimberlee Shauman on the career processes and outcomes of women in science.
