The ASA Section on Methodology aims to encourage
the development of methodology and its application in Sociology.
The term methodology shall be interpreted in its broadest sense
to include the development of investigative techniques appropriate
to any branch of sociology, of statistical and experimental procedures,
and of mathematics, data processing, and such other interests as
may be useful in sociological research. |

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS: 2003 Paul F. Lazarsfeld Memorial Award.
The deadline for nominations is June 15, 2003.
The Paul F. Lazarsfeld Award, recognizing sociologists
who have contributed to the field of sociological methodology,
was founded in 1986 in honor of Paul F. Lazarsfeld. The 2002 Lazarsfeld
award goes to J. Scott Long of Indiana University.

The 2004
ASA Methodology Section Winter/Spring Meeting takes place
on April 22-24, 2004 at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
The registration deadline is February 23, 2004 This year's topic
is "Causal Inference".
Call for papers for
the Sixth International Conference on Social Science Methodology
in Amsterdam in August 16-20, 2004. Deadline is March 15, 2004.
